Nintendo Switch - mobile Skyrim? We did it first :)

We knew that Nintendo was working on new console for about a year - and now it’s time for the big reveal.

It’s called Nintendo Switch (we knew it previously by its codename - Nintendo NX) - and, as it turns out it’s a console-handheld hybrid.

Let hear what Nintendo is saying about their new gaming system:

Introducing Nintendo Switch! In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video game play styles.

Reveal trailer is focused on playing everywhere - with different methods of controlling the game:

It's a very neat concept - one device that you can use as a in-home console, with ability to take your games outside. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of showcased games - and while Bethesda is silent about whether it's a port or a new title, and Nintendo was using in their previous trailers footage from games that were never released on their system - the prospect of playing portable Skyrim is tempting, isn't it?

But wait.

Will the new console be as powerful as your gaming PC?

Definitely not (even though it will use nVidia - powered technology). You can't expect it to render 4k, 60fps razor-sharp graphics.

And what about all mods you are already using? What about your current progress and save?

Guess what - you can play Skyrim on-the-go already!

What you need is a PC, mobile and Remotr - no fancy new controllers or docking stations.

With upcoming Special Edition remake of Skyrim I'd rather upgrade my gaming PC to have those stunning visuals.

Here is an old showcase of Skyrim being played on tablet - it’s almost 1,5 years old - that's right - portable Skyrim, we did it first :)

And now it's even better! You should definitely try playing Skyrim on your phone with Remotr.
