Child of Light is a Ubisoft experiment - instead of of the standard AAA games that the company is famous for (Assassin’s Creed, for example), Child of Light is a more experimental game, with a relatively small development team. The game itself is a gorgeously styled game modeled after the Japanese Role Playing Game (JRPG) genre, and as such as is a side scrolling platformer, with turn-based combat.
The game follows the story of the Child of Light - Aurora, She dies one night (or does she?), and wakes up in a dark, twisted world. Her quest is (of course) to restore the world to its former self, and bring back the light, as it were. To do so, she has to face down any number of foes, from dragons to spiders to ghosts (as befitting the JRPG roots).
As is usual with these games, Aurora isn’t fighting the good fight alone. During her quest she meets companions who join her in her battle to restore the world, such as Rubella, the jester who misses her brother, Finn, whose entire family was transformed into birds, or Norah, Aurora’s sister (well, one of them). All in all, Child of Light is a fun side scroller to play, and can be completed in about 12 hours.
Playing Child of Light on Mobile
Child of Light is fully supported by Remotr. Being a side scrolling platformer which utilizes both mouse and arrows, we’d recommend adding both analog sticks to the mobile screen. Adding the game’s additional controls to the screen corner (or using an external bluetooth controller of you prefer), and you’ll be enjoying Child of Light on your mobile in no time.
